Chairman Tom French – Secretary John Dearing 01726 844368

“Probus” is a nationwide association of clubs for the retired and semi-retired aimed at individuals wishing to meet new people and friends within a social environment. The Probus Club of St Austell is autonomous and has been running since 1970. Probus having the same name as the local village is purely coincidental, rather it is a play on words PROfessional and BUSiness people who were the original target group.
Today the Club is more inclusive with applications open to all like minded persons from the local area. We meet on the first Wednesday of every month for lunch at The Britannia Inn, Par. Lunch is followed by a short presentation given by an invited speaker on a wide variety of topics. An annual membership subscription of £30 is payable, the two or three course lunch currently costs £23/£27.
New members can expect a warm welcome. If you are interested and wish to find out more just drop us an email on the contact form below and we will get back to you. Alternatively, call our Secretary John Dearing on 01726 844368. Hopefully you will see your way to joining us at one of our lunches as a guest which should help you decide, prior to joining, whether Probus is for you.
So, don’t delay just take the first step as I did about two years ago!”
